Veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry! Veneers are a very thin ceramic shell that gets bonded to your existing tooth structure. They are an excellent way to redesign and reshape your entire mouth. With veneers you can fix issues such as spacing, cracked or stained teeth, misaligned teeth, and many other problems. In some cases, veneers can also serve a restorative purpose and can protect a damaged tooth from further harm.
Traditionally this process took two visits. On the first visit your teeth were prepared and an impression was taken. The impression was then sent to a laboratory for fabrication and you would leave the office with temporary veneers. On the second visit the veneers would get bonded to your teeth and any final adjustment would be done.
With the use of computers, Dr. Mahallati has revolutionized this process and has eliminated the need for a second appointment. With CAD/CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) technology once the teeth are prepared, a digital scan of the teeth is taken and the new veneers are made in the office from a solid block of porcelain in about 15 minutes. They are then bonded to your teeth and you leave with your final restorations. As the veneers are finalized, we will make every effort to make sure that your new veneers will feel just like your natural teeth.
With his palate of colors, and his artistic eyes, Dr. Mahallati and his staff can make sure that your new veneers blend seamlessly with the rest of your teeth for that natural looking smile. To borrow a quote from the late Steve Jobs, at Bay Dental you are “at the intersection of art and technology”.
Of course, for special cases, we may still use a laboratory to fulfill the needs of all of our patients. We only utilize the highest standard laboratories for fabrication of all of our work to ensure that your restorations are all made in the USA.
